Rose

Rose writes the kind of songs meant to be heard after midnight - sparse, unhurried, built from voice, piano, and whatever the room happened to pick up. Raised in Pernik, Bulgaria, now based in Sofia, their music sits somewhere between folk tradition and late-night confession.

the record

Nocturnes was written over one winter, alone in an apartment with bad heating and a good microphone. What began as a way to get through the season became six songs about the hours after everyone else has gone quiet — recorded live, mostly in single takes, with the mistakes left in on purpose.

CAREER

Since 2021, Rose has played rooms from Bulgaria to the US, building a following the slow way - one small show at a time - and drawing early attention from "Venue" for a sound they called "One of the more quietly devastating records to come out of the scene this year." Nocturnes is their first full studio release, and the clearest version yet of the sound they've been circling for years.
